Where Will The Water Come From?

The go-ahead has been given for more development despite state government warnings that the region's water supply is low. Miami-Dade was told by environmental and state planning agencies not to approve the 17 projects. According to South Florida Water Management District, Miami-Dade and other counties can no longer depend on getting additional water from the Biscayne Aquifer to support the growth. Miami-Dade leaders have been urged to start building infrastructure to store and reclaim water. At a minimum however this could costs hundreds of millions of dollars and take decades to construct.
